The Mansion
Mostacciano is the name of the area between Acqua Acetosa estate in the east, Casal Brunori in the south and Spinaceto and Torrino in the west. Probably the name of the area refers to the production of must, towards the end of the twelfth century AD produced from vineyards owned by the church.
Casale Mostacciano, however, is newer construction and is located on property belonging to a house of '600.
The whole area has archaeological and historical interest.
There are a lot of archeological findings during the excavations for the construction of buildings. Near the Casale Mostacciano you can find towers used in the thirteenth century AD to the control of the papal territory, while the remains of an ancient roadway almost coincide with the current of Decima Street, dating to the fourth and third centuries BC, are found in the entire area until you reach Via Laurentina. There are also rustic settlements and cemeteries from the Roman era.
